Itinerary

Meet a driver at your hotel in Siem Reap for the scenic, 2-hour trip to Phnom Kulen Mountain, passing a landscape of tropical forest and rural communities in your air-conditioned vehicle.

The first stop of the day is a hilltop temple, where you’ll find a massive reclining Buddha carved directly into a sandstone boulder. Next, head to the River of a Thousand Lingas, exploring a riverbank adorned with ancient carvings of phalluses and Hindu gods.

Cool off at another sacred site, Phnom Kulen Waterfalls, which tumble into a wide basin that’s ideal for a midday swim or wade. Throughout the day, the guide will help bring the ancient sites to life by explaining their significance and symbolism, and you’ll have time to purchase lunch at a local restaurant before the return trip to Siem Reap.

Fantastic half-day tour!

Great tour! Our guide Voath was friendly and factual and even acted as our photographer at points which was very appreciated. We explored 1000 lingas, Resting Buddha and Phnom Kulen Waterfall. The tour was half the day which was enough time to explore and enjoy these places.

Nice Day Out

It was a nice day out, a long walk up the stairs to the resting budda, a refreshing dip at the bottom of a waterfall (a surising wind is generated by the fslling water) and a wander alonf the river to see the carvings in the river bed.

A trip outside of main Siem Reap worth traveling to

We drove to the national park. It was a bit of a long drive but a great experience! The views from the top are AMAZING! The reclining Buddha is a work of art. We also loved the waterfall and the cool dip was a perfect break in the exploration and walking. On the way back we went to Banteay Srei, which is on par with the rest of the Angkor temples. Our guide, Nak, was a true expert in Cambodian history and on Buddhist/Hindu mythology and religion. It was truly a pleasure.

Breathtaking views of a more serene Cambodia

Our guide, Nak, took us up Phnom Kulen, one of the holiest sites in Cambodia. Pilgrims come from all over the country and even abroad to visit the reclining Buddha statue at the top of a mountain. It is a majestic sight, even to people who are not Hindu or Buddhist. The waterfall at Phnom Kulen are equally excellent and the water is wonderful in the heat. Nak made sure we stopped by Banteay Srei on the way back, which is an excellent temple that should not be missed. It is as good as many of the temples in Ankgor Thom. Nak is an excellent guide, and one of the best I've had on any trip around the world. His background in a monastery provides a unique and educational take on the sights in Siem Reap, and his incredible enthusiasm for the culture is genuine. We booked this tour after already taking one tour with Nak and would take a third day with him if we had the time.

Gorgeous tour and totally worth the day trip from Siem Reap!

We had a wonderful time with Mr. Nak who showed us nothing but kindness and hospitality all day. We loved seeing the waterfall and he has so much interesting knowledge and background (and photography skills!). Our tour experience was excellent.

Started with the 1,000 linga, hiked up the reclining Buddha and then headed to the waterfall for a nice swim!

Voath was our guide today and he was amazing! He went above and beyond and is full of knowledge about his country, culture and religion. When we went swimming at the waterfalls he was also an excellent photographer. Voath was the full package. If you can request him I highly suggest it. The tour itself was just as explained. He went and saw the 1000 linga and up to the famous reclining Buddha. Voath helped negotiate prices for us at the small market and the waterfalls were breathtaking. Thank you so much Voath and see you again!!
