Itinerary

The guide will pick up you at 8 am from your hotel and we will start this day with exploring the temples of UNESCO listed Angkor National Park, the World Heritage site and it's the World Largest Religious Monument. Pay the entrance fee on your own account at the ticket office where we will stop for you to buy one and make your way with the guide to the first stop at Angkor Wat to visit the largest and most impressive of all Angkor temples, considered among one of the 7th Wonders of the World.

Angkor Wat was built between 1113-1150 AD and dedicated to Vishnu, the Hindu god of preservation. It's the best preserved of all the temples. Its layout and its scale are simply breathtaking, the wall surrounding the enclosure measures 1,000 by 800 meters and the moat, said to represent the oceans of the world is 200 meters wide. Angkor Wat is an architectural allegory of the mythical Mount Meru in the center of the world (Himalaya). This amazing temple homes the longest continuous bas relief in the world, which runs along the outer gallery walls.

We also explore the Angkor Thom complex. Its vast walls, some 6m wide, 8m high and 13km in length contain many monuments. Inside the walls the king, his relatives and officials, military officers and priests took residence, the rest of the people lived outside of the great enclosure, between the two artificial lakes. Our visit will begin with the South Gate, a beautiful introduction to Angkor Thom with well-restored statues of Asuras (demons) and gods lining the bridge. Inside the complex, we will first visit the Bayon with 200 endless smiling faces. This temple mountain situated in the center of Angkor Thom City where sets the Bayon apart from many other Angkor monuments and we will continue to the Elephant Terrace, which owes its name to its outstanding depiction of these animals and the Terrace of Leper King, which presents a magnificent sculpture, popularly known as the leper king and then we continue the tour to Ta Phrom was a monastery built by the king Jayavarman VII as a residence for his mother as well as a school.

Ta Phrom has been controversially left to the destructive power of the jungle by French archaeologists to demonstrate the awesome power of nature. It has been largely consumed by the jungle and as you will climb through the dilapidated stone structures you will see many giant trees growing out of the top of the temple itself. At every turn you will expect to see Indiana Jones (Lara Croft) step out from behind a fallen pillar around you.

This tour concludes with return transfer to your hotel or any requested drop off point within the city center.

What an amazing experience!

Our trip to Angkor Wat completely exceeded my expectations. I knew it would be enjoyable but wow! Our tour guide Sath was so knowledgeable, as he answered every single question we asked. He was so friendly and willing to be patient with us as we soaked in all of the history. His English was impressive, and he communicated with us very clearly at all three temples we visited. His drivers, Mr. Mom and Phallite were also friendly, safe, and provided water for us every time we looked like we needed one. I would highly recommend Sath to anyone wanting to explore Angkor Wat and the beauty of Siem Reap. I am still amazed at what a fun and enriching day we had. Thank you Sath!

Angcor Wat Tour with Sath, Mr.Mom and Mr.Phallit

My friends and I had the opportunity to go on a tour with Sath, and with his drivers, Mr. Mom and Mr.Phallit to Angkor Wat. It wad an amazing experience! Sath was so kind, and answered all my questions with well spoken responses. He has such a great sense of humor, and was a pleasure to be around. My whole group wished we could keep him as a tour guide for the rest of our trip! Mr.Mom and Mr.Phallit were wonderful drivers. They always had cold water ready for us when we returned, and got us safely to all the locations. The temples were incredible, and the culture here is none other. Highly recommended, especially if you can get the same guide and drivers!! I can't wait to come back one day!

Had the best time at Angkor Wat!

Angkor Wat was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen! Our tour guide Sath was very nice and funny. He is extremely knowledgeable about the history of the place, and never failed to answer any of our questions. I highly recommend seeing the temple complex with a private tour so that you can absorb as much of culture and history as possible! I never would have noticed all the small details otherwise.

A great day out with Nak our guide!

We had a brilliant day with our guide Nak. He gave us a great tour! We got excellent insights into the temples, including the physical structures, the history behind them and their culture significance in Cambodia. Nak was funny, charismatic and full of knowledge. I’d really recommend this tour and him as a guide!

Amazing Angkor experience with our guide Nak

We booked our Angkor tour through Green Era travel and it was a wonderful day. Highly recommended. Nak was our guide and Borey our driver. It was simply amazing, an unforgettable experience. Nak was the best tour guide, so knowledgeable about all the history and was so kind to us all day. Never have I met a more fascinating man. Many, many thanks to Nak and Borey and I would strongly recommend seeing all the temples, not just the main ones as they are all breathtaking.

Great day tour with Nak

Nak has a very good standard of English, depth of knowledge of the temples and passion for what he does. We visited 4 temples all of which had differing characteristics. He explained to us about Buddism, traditions and customs associated with the various temples etc. His manner was exceptional. He had a great sense of humour. He was very polite and very engaging. I would definatly recommend a tour with Nak.

Highly recommend Sath and Channa!

We highly recommend this private tour of Angkor Wat. Our English-speaking tour guide was very knowledgeable and helpful as we were travelling with kids. He was very accommodating to all our requests and took great photos. The van aircon was super cool after visiting the temples and we were offered plenty of water and face towels. We would highly recommend our guide Sath and driver Channa to anyone looking for a great experience in Angkor Wat!

Fantastic private tour of Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom and Ta Prohm Temple

Fantastic private tour of Angkor with our tour guide Sath and driver Mr Borey in July 2024, highly recommend! We visited Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom and Ta Prohm (tomb raider movie temple) over ~6 hrs including a lunch break in the middle. Sath is an excellent guide, super knowledgeable about the history of the temples and the interesting stories behind the artistic wall carvings. He is also a very good photographer and helped us take lots of great photos with the best angles! Communication before the tour was all very smooth. We appreciated having the AC van as the transportation and Mr Borey always had the van ready to pick us up immediately between sites, along with ice cold water and wet wipes (critical in hot, humid weather!). Note you need to buy the Angkor Wat entrance ticket on your own, and recommend buying online beforehand to save time on the day (we did this). Don't hesitate to book this tour!
