Itinerary

The guide will pick up you at 8 am from your hotel and we will start this day with exploring the temples of UNESCO listed Angkor National Park, the World Heritage site and it's the World Largest Religious Monument. Pay the entrance fee on your own account at the ticket office where we will stop for you to buy one and make your way with the guide to the first stop at Angkor Wat to visit the largest and most impressive of all Angkor temples, considered among one of the 7th Wonders of the World.

Angkor Wat was built between 1113-1150 AD and dedicated to Vishnu, the Hindu god of preservation. It's the best preserved of all the temples. Its layout and its scale are simply breathtaking, the wall surrounding the enclosure measures 1,000 by 800 meters and the moat, said to represent the oceans of the world is 200 meters wide. Angkor Wat is an architectural allegory of the mythical Mount Meru in the center of the world (Himalaya). This amazing temple homes the longest continuous bas relief in the world, which runs along the outer gallery walls.

We also explore the Angkor Thom complex. Its vast walls, some 6m wide, 8m high and 13km in length contain many monuments. Inside the walls the king, his relatives and officials, military officers and priests took residence, the rest of the people lived outside of the great enclosure, between the two artificial lakes. Our visit will begin with the South Gate, a beautiful introduction to Angkor Thom with well-restored statues of Asuras (demons) and gods lining the bridge. Inside the complex, we will first visit the Bayon with 200 endless smiling faces. This temple mountain situated in the center of Angkor Thom City where sets the Bayon apart from many other Angkor monuments and we will continue to the Elephant Terrace, which owes its name to its outstanding depiction of these animals and the Terrace of Leper King, which presents a magnificent sculpture, popularly known as the leper king and then we continue the tour to Ta Phrom was a monastery built by the king Jayavarman VII as a residence for his mother as well as a school.

Ta Phrom has been controversially left to the destructive power of the jungle by French archaeologists to demonstrate the awesome power of nature. It has been largely consumed by the jungle and as you will climb through the dilapidated stone structures you will see many giant trees growing out of the top of the temple itself. At every turn you will expect to see Indiana Jones (Lara Croft) step out from behind a fallen pillar around you.

This tour concludes with return transfer to your hotel or any requested drop off point within the city center.

Green Era Travel private Angkor tour.

We recently had a short stay in Siem Reap. To make the most of our time there we decided to do a private tour of the main temples at Angkor with Green Era Travel. We were delighted with our choice. Our guide Sophie led us expertly through each location. His knowledge of the history was amazing and he took his time to ensure what we understood what we were seeing. In addition the driver and vehicle were excellent. Highly recomended.

A fantastic experience

We spent three days in Siem Real visiting Angkor Wat, Ta Prohm, Angkor Thom and Ta Nei. Our driver, Phearom, was very friendly, knowledgeable, and an excellent host. He was always happy to take us wherever we needed to go, always had cold water on hand after a long day at the temples, and was so patient and accomodating with us. If we return to Cambodia, we will definitely be seeking him out again!

Great tour, fantastic guide, thank-you Vantha ????

We did the 6-7hr tour of the temples with our guide, Vantha, what a great guide he was, so knowledable, great English and such an informative description of the history of both the people and the temples. We would highly recommend Vantha and Green Era Travel if you’re in Seam Reap and want to see Angkor Wat and other temples.

Fabulous day at the temples

Really enjoyed our temple visit with Sophy. We decided against the sunrise tour with 2 teens to drag out of bed. No issue going at 8.30am and no queues for tickets. Not too many tourists at all at the moment (bad for the locals - good for us!). The 3 temple tour was perfect for us - Angkhor Wat, Bayon and Ta Prohm. Sophy was really informative telling us all about the history and how the temples evolved over the years. The lunch stop was very welcome too. Would really recommend Sophy - his English and knowledge is excellent and he takes great family photos.

Perfect day tour!

We had a wonderful experience with our guide Kuysin (Sin) today. We only have two days in Siem Reap and this was the perfect day tour to see the highlights. We were transported safely by tuk-tuk to see all the major sites. Sin was excellent, taught us a lot about the history of the archaeological complex and of Cambodia, and answered our numerous questions with patience and a smile. We were able to finish the whole tour in about 5.5 hours which left plenty of time to relax and enjoy the rest of the day. Highly recommend this tour, especially if you are short on time. We will definitely be coming back again - hopefully for longer, as there is just so much to see!

Angkor Wat Visit

Our tour guide was amazing!!! He did an excellent job explaining and showing us all the history of Angkor Wat. The infrastructure of the Angkor Wat was out of this world. Our guide was named Nak. He is by far the best tour guide l've had. He went above and beyond teaching us. I really recommend him!!!!!

What an amazing experience!

Our trip to Angkor Wat completely exceeded my expectations. I knew it would be enjoyable but wow! Our tour guide Sath was so knowledgeable, as he answered every single question we asked. He was so friendly and willing to be patient with us as we soaked in all of the history. His English was impressive, and he communicated with us very clearly at all three temples we visited. His drivers, Mr. Mom and Phallite were also friendly, safe, and provided water for us every time we looked like we needed one. I would highly recommend Sath to anyone wanting to explore Angkor Wat and the beauty of Siem Reap. I am still amazed at what a fun and enriching day we had. Thank you Sath!
