I wish I had been on the advertised tour!

I was very dissatisfied with the tour. While the visit to the local food Market was good the rest of the trip did not meet the advertised tour. Many features and tastings weren't provided. I read the website description again after finishing the tour - I wish I had been given the advertised tour and not the one I went on! Apparently the romantic dinner at the deserted hotel restaurant at the end of the 'street food's tour is also part of the 'product'.

Poor tour

The tour was not very well planned. After seeing the sunrise we have been left in a so called restaurant for three hours without any clear reason. Overall not a great experience.

Many better things in Siem Reap

I gave 2 stars because the tour was well organised,?on time, funny guide ... but honestly, i know we are in Cambodia and waste management is not at its best but there is so much trash and plastic on the canals banks that it ruined it for me. It might be naive of me but I thought such community would live in harmony with their environment, well they don’t. (One boat even got stuck because of plastic entangled in its propeller) Other things bothered me as well, we are paying 21€for 3,5hours but we are still requested to give a tip to the boat driver, buy school supply, I felt taken advantage of. It also feels like a zoo or safari, we pay to see people live their life in, I believe, poverty. I have no idea how much of what we pay is actually going back to the community and the guide didn’t know either... I guess not much, even if I hope I am wrong Btw, at the dry season, the mater has a macchiato colour, seem to be a few meters lower than at the wet season, you can than see the structure of the houses but it won’t give the “floating” feeling In one word, a tourist trap that I would have gladly skipped, and if you are an environmentally conscious person, you should probably too

Not very eco yet

The positive first; the guide was very knowledgable and explained much more about Cambodian living than we expected. The village itself however left us with mixed feelings. The information on the tour itself did not include the fact that you have to pay $5 extra per person to go through the mangroves by canoe (with a local as driver). Subsequently your canoe makes a first and second stop in what can only be described as a commercial floating junkfood market with canoes filled with ladies who sell softdrinks in plastic bottles and cans and snacks in plastic bags. Your boat waits until you buy food and drinks for yourself and for the driver. These are manatory stops. Next we were told to buy bananas for the monkeys in the mangroves. In our case we never saw any monkeys there. This village positions itself as eco-friendly. We have no idea what that is based upon. It was not explained but it seems to have made this village properous. Most of the boats they use are extremely noisy and leave a trail of smoke and smell. Even worse is the water polution in the waters in and around the village. There is plastic and other garbage everywhere! In the water, along the shores and in the branches in the mangrove forest. Yes, it is true in all of Cambodia, where you see garbage dumped in the most beautiful places. But, in a place like this, which is largely dependant on tourism, it appears the villagers just don't see it and leave all the plastic where it is.

Water falls, and reclining Budda

Tour brought us to the water fall, it's ok nothing spectacular just a small water fall and pool, I do wonder how many people have been injured trying to maneuver over the rocks and roots. If they want tourist they should make it safer. Going to see the reclining budda, has a lot of climbing to get there. If you were Buddhist ok . My interest was very little. Scenery was nice thought higher up. Not worth the money in my opinion.
