Itinerary

Meet a driver at your hotel in Siem Reap for the scenic, 2-hour trip to Phnom Kulen Mountain, passing a landscape of tropical forest and rural communities in your air-conditioned vehicle.

The first stop of the day is a hilltop temple, where you’ll find a massive reclining Buddha carved directly into a sandstone boulder. Next, head to the River of a Thousand Lingas, exploring a riverbank adorned with ancient carvings of phalluses and Hindu gods.

Cool off at another sacred site, Phnom Kulen Waterfalls, which tumble into a wide basin that’s ideal for a midday swim or wade. Throughout the day, the guide will help bring the ancient sites to life by explaining their significance and symbolism, and you’ll have time to purchase lunch at a local restaurant before the return trip to Siem Reap.

Informative National Park Tour

We had a wonderful time on our tour today. Our tour guide was very informative and was happy to answer all our questions. This tour had a great mix of sites to visit and they even made an additional stop for us at the Mine Museum. I would highly recommend.

Phnom Kulen Reclining Buddha and Waterfall

Our guide was on time and very informative. He spoke excellent English. There was only 6 in our group so we got to know each other and shared information. I have a bad ankle and was able to do pretty much everything because I was determined and Vichet, our guide was very helpful and made sure I was okay the whole day

Magical day!

I don´t like to manage my holidays beforehand, like I know alot of people like to do. I stumbled upon this tour mainly based on your reviews from here, and let me tell you, what an amazing treat. After having been told: "What are you going to do for a week in Siem Reap?, Angkor Wat is only one place". I got stressed about not having enough to do. This tour was so magical, so different and completely reassured me that there are gems to be sought. The serenity we experienced while being blessed by monks on the mountain top, seeing the big Buddha, the 1000 Linga carved in the river and finally the absolutely stunning waterfall you can swim under in the end, almost indescribable. The cherry on top was 100% the perfect and lively guidance from our guide, San "the Man" with the masterplan. A gentleman so filled to the brim with knowledge. Not only about the history of the place, but of archaeology, geology and an abundance of personal experience connected to the place. This tour is something that I would always recommend to everyone going to Siem Reap, and if you are fortunate enough to have San "the Man" as your guide, consider yourself lucky!

Full day Tour

I signed up as a single and joined a wonderful family of 3 for a great time. Our guide, Vichet, made us very comfortable. His English was easy to understand and he shared lots of culture and history with us. We swam in the highest waterfall and Vichet took pictures for me and stayed with us patiently. If you are Angkor Wat overwhelmed, then take this tour for a calm enjoyable and unique experience. Vichet will make you very happy. This trip is awesome.

Great Day w. Guide Chet to Waterfalls

This trip leaves Siem Reap in A/C Van and travels through the countryside. It’s much more than a simple trip to Waterfalls of Phmom Kulen. CHET, was the best and most outstanding guide. He shared his wealth of knowledge about his country’s people, agriculture, religious history, current events and daily life. Stops along the trip in both directions make the long drive seem like just a few minutes. Make sure CHET explains the significance of the 1000 Lingas in the river. You won’t forget it.Time spent at the 15th century Reclining Buddha was very interesting. Be sure to buy the packets of small Riel bills to make offerings and help out those in need. The Waterfalls are a popular destination and not a remote experience. Vendors along the path offer many souvenirs and local foods. The trip ends with a stop to eat at a very good restaurant on your own dime but very affordable. CHET graciously accepted our invitation to join us during our meal.Tips are not mandatory but after spending a day with CHET you won’t mind rewarding him for his expertise and pleasurable attitude.

Nice Guide!

Super informative and upbeat guide. He really seems to enjoy teaching you about the history, explaining about the culture and foods, and just showing you around his country.Learned a lot. Saw some great sites. Ask for “Chet” when you book your tour!

Can be better

We went in a tour van, with a driver and a tour guide. Total of 8 tourists. The tour guide was not good in explaining the history or religious importance of phnom kulen. I overheard the other tour groups with a better guide.

An active fun day at Phnon Kulen with the amazing guide!

Even on a day of rainy season, it turned out sunny amazing day at Phnon Kulen. The temple is beautifully blended in the nature. You would enjoy the walk to top of the temple and all the little shops around. After visiting the temple and walking by the river, it's the best to refresh up at the waterfall. It was after a rainy day, but we didn't have any problem going into the water. You definitely feel the power of nature in the water. It was worth driving for 2 hrs on bumpy road and going through countryside of Cambodia. Also the driver did great job avoiding the holes on the road.We were actually very very lucky to have Sarat and Borey for 2 tours accidentally! they are the best!
