Day 01: Siem Reap - Angkor Archaeological Paradise Full-Day Tour
Pick up in Siem Reap in an air-conditioned vehicle from your hotel in Siem Reap.  We’ll then set off for the Angkor Wat Ticket Office where you’ll pay and get your Angkor Pass (required).  The first stop will be Angkor Wat, one of the best-preserved archaeological sites in Southeast Asia and considered one of the Seven Wonders of the World.  Stand in awe as you witness Angkor Wat’s colossal structures and meticulous architecture. Angkor Wat was built in the early 12th century, explore the beautiful complexity of Angkor Wat’s vastness from its intricately carved hallways, columns, and mysterious chambers to its grand courtyards.

Then, continue with your guide to the city of Angkor Thom, which covers a sprawling area of 6 square miles (10 km sq). Enter from the monumental South Gate over a picturesque causeway lined on either side by statues of demons and gods, each carrying a giant naga, a deity in the form of a snake.

Stop at the Bayon temple and witness for yourself why this mysterious temple, dubbed as the Temple of Smiling Faces, has become one of the favorite Angkor temples of most visitors.  Continue to the Terrace of the Elephants and Terrace of the Leper Kings, then onward to Ta Prohm. In Ta Prohm, get enchanted with the sight of the ruins taken over by tree roots, a demonstration of the awesome power of nature. Finally, heading back to your hotel after tours.

Day 02: Siem Reap - Excursion to Tonle Sap Lake and Kampong Phluk Floating Village
Pick up at your hotel from Siem Reap, then we will drive about 45-minutes to the countryside, upon arrival at the quay, we will board a local boat for a 1.5-hour ride to the Tonle Sap Lake.  Along the way to the lake, we will pass through Kompong Phluk. It's a floating village and village on stilts which means 'harbor of the tusks'. Observe firsthand how villagers go about their daily lives in this remote and extraordinary environment.  See colorful houses, schools, temples, churches and local government offices. Wonder at the sight of the green flooded forest (in rainy season) of the surrounding floodplain.

We will continue the boat ride past the village until we reach the immense water scape of Tonle Sap Lake. Find out from your experienced guide telling you about Cambodia’s most important source of life-giving resources.

Optional (rainy season only): a magical canoe ride into the dense mangrove forest. Just tell your guide if you want to take the short tour at an additional cost.

Heart and soul of Cambodia on this tour

I was advised by travelers that having a knowledgeable guide is important in order to appreciate the beauty and meaning of Angkor Wat as an ultimate expression of the beauty of Khmer. I selected this tour by Green Era Travel - a full day tour of the Temples of Angkor Complex and the massive Tonle Sap lake. Our guide for this private tour was Mr. Samnang. He impressed us with his knowledge, and good command of English. Along the way he engaged with the locals if only to put a smile of their faces. When he noticed visitors who broke the rules of the Temple Complex (such as sitting on the balustrade of climbing on the ruins of a temple), he politely asked them not to do so. We visited the Kampong Phluk on our cruise along the massive Tonle Sap Lake. I was humbled by the friendliness and the high spirit displayed by the local folk. The ladies were busy making preparations for an upcoming wedding in the village and I was told that the whole village was invited to the reception. The driver was on time and accommodating. The vehicle was clean and air conditioning kept us comfortable in our journey. I felt privileged to join this tour conducted by Samnang - a kind, courteous and friendly gentleman. I highly recommend him to other travelers.

These were the most exciting and thorough tours I've been given on this vacation. Mr. Chet was outstanding. He was patient, knowledgeable about Cambodian history and well spoken. His English was clear and easily understood. I am 76 years, traveling solo with some limitations. My Chet was most supportive and ensured I could rest and remain hydrated. Mr. Chet was a perfect and generous professional. Thank you.

4 Aussies in Siem Reap

Sarat was our guide & Mr Mel was our driver. Both gentlemen were absolutely fantastic. Sarat was very knowledgeable and answered all our curious questions. Took us to the best place to watch the sunrise over Angkor Wat, told us so much about Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom, Bayon Temple etc and took great photos! They also took us on the Floating Village tour and told us so much about the way of life out there. So impressed with our tour. Highly recommend these gentlemen when touring Siem Reap.

Siem Reap and Tonle Sap tour

We spent 2 days with Green Era travel guide Mr Noy and driver Mr Pot. Both were unfailingly polite and considerate. Mr Noy had excellent knowledge of Angkor history and religion which he shared with us. He also stopped to show us things we asked about, such as how palm sugar was produced. We highly recommend them.
